As we wrap up 2024, I want to thank you for being a part of the e-commerce made easy podcasting journey. This year has been full of incredible conversations, insights and actionable tips to help you grow your online business. To close out this year, I'm recapping the top five most loved episodes of 2024. Ones you the found the most valuable. Whether you're tuning in for the first time or revisiting these episodes, this recap will highlight key takeaways and explain why these topics are essential for your business success. So what are the top five episodes of this year? Let's dive in and find out.
Speaker 1:Welcome to the e-commerce made easy podcast. I'm your host, keri Saunders. When we started this business, all I had was a couch, a laptop and a nine month old my main goal to help others. Now, with over 20 years in the e-commerce building industry, and even more than that in web development, I have seen a lot. I love breaking down the hard tech into easily understandable bits to help others be successful in their online business. Whether you're a seasoned e-commerce veteran or just starting out, you've come to the right place. So sit back, relax and let's dive into the world of e-commerce together. Welcome back to the show.
Speaker 1:I'm so excited to share with you our top five podcast episodes of 2024. These are the ones you, the listener, really loved, resonated with and helped boost your business. To make things easier, we will also be linking to each episode in the show notes, in case there's ones you haven't heard yet and you want to listen to, or ones you may want to re-listen to because you want to get some more actionable tips out of the episode. So let's start off with coming in at number five is episode number 38, how to improve email deliverability and how to avoid emails going to spam. So in February 2024, google and other major email providers cracked down on spam, and many business owners were caught off guard. Emails weren't being delivered or ended up in spam folders, which is a marketing nightmare. Right, you expect your emails to land in the inbox of your customers. Even now, in December 2024, some businesses are still unaware of the technical setup now required to comply with these new standards. In this episode, I broke down the tech behind these rules and provided clear, actionable steps to improve your email deliverability. We emphasize why email remains one of the most effective marketing tools for online businesses and how to ensure that your messages reach the inbox. If you've implemented these tips. You're already ahead of the curve, but if not, this episode is worth a listen, or even a re-listen too, if you want to double check that your email setup is fully optimized. I find that when customers change like their email service provider or how they're doing email, this needs to be revisited every single time because you're going to need to adjust some small things. So if you've changed any of that since you've implemented these changes if you've already implemented them I highly encourage you go listen to this episode yet again.
Speaker 1:Okay, so then what's number four? Coming in? At number four is episode 43, leveraging Facebook groups for e-commerce and online business success. So, in addition to have a healthy email list, having a community of your ideal clients is key to business success. We explored how Facebook groups can be a cost-effective way to connect to your audience, build loyalty and keep your business top of mind. In this episode, we discussed practical tips to save time while managing your social media using theme days to avoid decision fatigue and scheduling time blocks to stay out of that social media black hole that we all know is completely possible. We also shared real-world examples of running your own group or ethically participating in others to enhance your brand's reputation. So if you haven't tuned in yet, this episode is packed with actionable steps to help you make the most of Facebook groups and, if you have listened, revisit it to identify your next best step to implement in 2025.
Speaker 1:Okay, so, coming in at number three is episode number 56, how to leverage LinkedIn to grow your business, and it is a juicy one. It is one of my personal favorites. If you're not on LinkedIn or unsure if you're using it effectively, this episode is a must listen. With over 7 million users and only 4 to5% of those users actively creating content, linkedin is a goldmine for standing out. Plus, linkedin users typically have higher income levels, averaging over $100,000, making it the perfect platform to connect with audiences who can afford your product or services.
Speaker 1:Our guest expert in this episode, beverly Smith, shared strategies like why LinkedIn is essential for business owners. How to optimize your LinkedIn profile for maximum impact, how to find and engage with your ideal clients. The best ways to recycle and repurpose content on LinkedIn to avoid the content hamster wheel that we can all fall in. Right, if you've been underestimating LinkedIn, this episode will totally change your perspective. I know it changed mine when I was having this wonderful discussion with Beverly. Okay.
Speaker 1:So then, coming in at number two is episode 61, how to write a blog in minutes versus hours using AI. This episode was a game changer for many of you and for me too. Ai can seem overwhelming, but our guest expert, sam Gamble, broke it down into simple, actionable steps. She explained how to use compound prompts to get detailed, customized outputs from AI tools like ChatGPT and CloudAI, and with these strategies, you can create comprehensive outlines and SEO-focused blogs. You can generate follow-up material like social media posts and email campaigns. You can repurpose your content with ease while keeping your authentic voice with AI, and she really breaks this down and makes it simple. So, even though I use the word compound prompts, it's actually really simple. When you break it down, it's like talking to your friend and really explaining what you need and who they are. And if you've been spending hours creating content, this episode will show you how to save those hours while producing high quality, impactful materials that still sound like you, and that is super important. When AI is, it needs to be still us, right? So it is a great way to make and refine your content with ease using these tips that Sam gave us. So, trust me, once you start implementing these tips. You'll wonder how you ever managed without AI. I know I sometimes wonder now too, because I'll get such creative mental blocks on when I'm making content, and AI helps pull me right out of that, and Sam gives us some great tips on there.
Speaker 1:And finally, coming in at number one for 2024 is episode number 40, top five mistakes online business owners make with their website. This episode struck a chord with so many of you because your website is a foundation of your online business. Right In this episode, we explore the five most common website mistakes and how to fix them, including poor website design, such as slow loading times, making sure your design is responsive, making sure you're using clear, compelling call to actions. Also, we talked about missing key pages, and these key pages help us build trust, help us really build that confidence in our consumers, and we really talked about what's missing and why you need to have it. We also talked about mobile users, as we touched on, and we talked about why it's very important, why mobile first should be in your brain all the time, even though I know for some of us who came up and grew up with computers before mobiles came into the play, it's hard to remember sometimes, but mobile first is very important here. We also talked about inadequate or disorganized content and making sure that we're having very rich content that is focused on one thing per page. And then we also talked about complicated navigation and how we can simplify it and what really needs to be at the top of the page to make sure the users are confident and comfortable browsing around on your site. This episode is a must listen if you want to ensure your website's optimized for both users and for search engines.
